TESTICLE

Terribly Experimental System Towards Infrastructure (as) Code Learning Environments

The Plan

Use OpenTofu, Ansible and other tools to automate the deployment,upgrade,replacement or decommissioning of any and all connected devices in my home network.

The needed parts as of right now

  • Opnsense
    • KEA DHCP for all thinks DHCP
    • Unbound for internal DNS entries
    • Automated firewall rules
    • ZenArmor playbooks?
  • Netbox
    • As a Source of truth for all networking addressing
    • As a trigger point for Ansible playbooks for Mikrotik configuration? (or should this also OpenTofu?)
  • Ansible
    • To automate the software layers and container deployments
  • PXE
    • For local cloud-init? with OpenTofu? (still researching this)
